HAPPY (male dog) 6 years old ,was brought in on an emergency basis, presenting with anuria and signs of abdominal discomfort. During the physical examination, the dog showed significant pain when the caudal abdomen was palpated. Abdominal ultrasound revealed a large accumulation of uroliths within the urinary bladder, with a suspected urethral obstruction.
To stabilize the patient, cystocentesis was performed to relieve pressure and decompress the bladder, as urinary catheterization was unsuccessful due to complete urethral blockage.
The next day, the patient underwent a cystotomy under general anesthesia. A large number of uroliths were successfully removed from the urinary bladder and urethra. The surgery was completed without complications, and the patient recovered well postoperatively.
Following the procedure, the dog regained normal urination and remained in stable condition.
