Feline berateral radical Mastectomy

Posted by Pets Haven | Aug 4, 2025

Luna, a 1.2-year-old female cat, underwent a rare and complex surgery involving a bilateral radical mastectomy to remove multiple mammary masses, along with an emergency spay due to pyometra. Despite her young age, the presence of such mammary tumours was unusual, and the simultaneous procedures required careful surgical planning and monitoring. Tissue samples were sent to the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) to identify the nature of the masses.

Luna is recovering well, and this case highlights the importance of timely veterinary intervention in complex feline conditions.
